The Empire State Building opened on May 1, 1931, once the tallest building globally,(1,250 feet high) now an iconic feature of the New York skyline. (the Burj Khalifa in Dubai is the tallest building globally at 2,717 feet high).
May is the month we celebrate “Mother’s Day”.The second day of Sunday, acknowledged worldwide. This special day dates back to 1907.
The birthstone for May is the emerald, symbolizing fertility and rebirth. Emeralds cost more than regular diamonds & are more rare than diamonds.
May boasts two birth flowers: the Lily-of-the-Valley and the Hawthorn, representing hope, happiness, and sweetness.
